I would suggest reading -if anything- chapter 7 of _Psychic Self-Defense_ by Dion Fortune. She was one of the leading occultists of the age, and, although her own feelings are thinly vieled on the matter, she has interesting explanations to consider.

yeah, we talked, it was cool. its funny how you dont hear a voice for so long but the second you hear it you know it. i told him to call me and we'd hang out - id really love to, id figure out some way to juggle all my plans around to make the time - but he hasn't yet. we'll see. i'm trying to be not as stubborn, obnoxious and in-yo-face as i know i can be most of the time.

i know, i know, it's part of my charm, but there is a time and a place for everything. ;)
