2011 Reading/Watching Report
Okay, this is the fourth year I've kept this list. I reversed the recent downward trend in number of books read, but mostly by reading a lot of crap light, undemanding novels.
2011 totals
Books read: 75 (up from 31 in 2010 and 47 in 2009, but down from 106 in 2008)
Books read for the first time: 35
Rereads: 40
Fiction: 66
Nonfiction: 9
Best new book read: This wasn't really a good year for books ... Snuff by Terry Pratchett)
Movies watched: 66 (up from 57 in 2010 and 2009, but down from 122 in 2008)
In theaters: 6 (plus 3 repeats, for 9 - crazy high!)
For the first time: 40
Re-watches: 26
Best new (to me) movie watched: Sense & Sensibility (2008 BBC) (another weak year for movies)
Best new movie watched in the theater: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II, I suppose
TV season DVDs watched: 3 seasons/ 3 shows (from 13/7 in 2010, 20/7 in 2009, and 12/3 in 2008)
For the first time: 1
Re-watches: 3
Best new (to me) show watched: Downton Abbey, since it was the only one! But it probably would have won no matter what the competition.
Plays seen in theaters: 12 (an exciting new high!)
Best production: The Music Man, Utah Shakespeare
I also attended two football game (Rice/Tulsa and Rice/Tulane). And I watched ridiculous, insane amounts of football, baseball, and basketball on TV
