Game of Thrones, 2.05 - The Ghost of Harrenhal

Holy shit, that was an amazing episode.

[spoilers]

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Margaery Tyrell. I fucking love that it's Natalie Dormer playing her. She was always the best thing about The Tudors. "I want to be THE queen." FUCK YEAH. I read that some book fans aren't happy that she's so obviously ambitious since she's more subtle in the books, but fuck it, I love it. I love that it's a woman who is openly ambitious and politically savvy, because it can't always be just the men who are playing the game, and we definitely need another ambitious woman in Westeros to contrast Cersei, who's power hungry but not so much with the competence.

The scene with Arya and Tywin jfc. While I may not have liked Arya in the first season, I thought Maisie Williams was amazing. She continues to knock it out of the park, holding her own against Charles Dance. It gave me shivers. I love Tywin's reaction to Arya's line about how anyone can be killed. And I talked before about how much I love that line, and Maisie's delivery of it.

BRIENNE AND CATELYN OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Brienne swearing her fealty to Catelyn. Holy shit, I was a volcano of emotions. Brienne's recognition of Catelyn's awesome. The fierce strength of Catelyn. HER VOW BACK TO BRIENNE. "I shall ask no service of you that might bring you dishonor." A;FKLDJKAL;FDJLAKFJ;ALFDJLKAFJDL;AF SO MANY FUCKING FEELS. I was THISCLOSE to tears.

I'm SO TORN about Jorah and Dany. It's not helping that it's Iain Glen in super ultra fineass mode, and the way he plays Jorah with incredible sincerity. I know Jorah in the books is 100000x creepier and the very definition of a Nice Guy, but that's not the version on my TV, so I'm like omgggggggggggggggggggg *________* He's clearly so in love with Dany, and it should still be creepy no matter what, yet I can't feel the sleaze factor. .___.

I can't believe they made Bran interesting. That is a clear development of character, and I appreciate it. The earlier episodes had him disaffected, but now he's taking charge and getting shit done, and I love what he says about protecting his bannermen. This is the kind of development I need from Jon Snow, which I still keep not getting. He's still an annoying whiny emo douche, and I'm skipping his bits, because he's boring the fuck out of me. Back on Bran, man, his actor is clearly growing up. IDK what they're gonna do in the later seasons. I think the girls will be all right, but Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran) is probably gonna suddenly be 6 feet tall next season haha.

Okay, I still don't have any icons. I really should rectify that.
