This movie has the dubious honor of being the first movie I've ever walked out of in my life. Not because it was bad or too scary, but because I got severe motion sickness from it. Truth be told, I probably would've stuck with it if it weren't for the fact that I was watching it with my sister (and BIL) and she was both sick AND bored and wanted to go.
This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that our original plan was to watch it at home since I'd ahem-ed a copy. So not only did we get motion sickness AND wasted $35, we also had a crappy fast food dinner because there wasn't time for a proper sitdown meal.
I really should've known better. I knew this was a handcam docu-style movie, but I was under the impression that the camera would be in a fixed position for most of the movie. Not like the frantic shaking of The Blair Witch Project, which gave me a hardcore case of motion sickness. What I did see of Paranormal Activity was scarier than Blair Witch though. I love horror, but most horror doesn't really scare me, because the situations are completely ridic. I'm never going to go camping in the woods or study in Japan or hitchhike on an interstate. But creepy noises in a house in the middle of the night? Fuck yeah that shit scares me. I just really wish the motion sickness hadn't kicked in and ruined everything.
This evening = a huge bust. F-------------------
