Terminator: Salvation

AKA the movie where I officially stop giving a shit about Christian Bale. Alas, I have discovered that for the past several years, I have wanted to like Christian Bale more than I actually liked him. I thought he was really amazing in American Psycho, I enjoyed him in Equilibrium, but right around Batman Begins, I began to ( Read more... )

tscc, i'd rather be watching star trek, movies, say no to the beef

I KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. URGH. But like, there were moments where Bradley Cooper is wearing this black suit with a black shirt, no tie, and holy fuck am I a sucker for that get-up, especially for blue-eyed guys, because their blues POP like whoa when they're wearing all black.

Only Chris Pine is allowed from now on.

Hahahahaha.

Everything you said about Terminator and Bale is MOTTO

MOTTO stands for something?

OMG The Prestige. I loooooooooooved The Prestige.

Now I want to watch it again. Damn you!

Star Trek worked by sheer force of charisma and awesome pacing.

Um, amen. I love it beyond all reason (and fangirl it madly, and have watched it sixtymillion times...) but, uh. Swiss cheese, it is.

I loved The Prestige too. But man, I don't think that's a movie I can watch more than once. Way too brutal.

Haha yeah, Trek was awesome, but its plot is held together by bits of string and tape.

As Trek films go, Trek XI wasn't TOO bad in the plotholes department.

Oh Christian Bale... He was pretty solid in Public Enemies, which I liked, but even there "conveying actual emotion" wasn't something the character really required. In Terminator Salvation, he remains fail.

Everything I hear about Transformers 2 makes me D: even more at how well it's doing. I don't want it to succeed, dammit! But then I -- quietly, unpopularly -- disliked the first one, so...

Ooh, you saw The Hangover! Gross-out comedies aren't normally my thing, but the trailer looked funny. I was actually thinking of giving it a try...

I'm probably gonna be seeing Public Enemies this week. I kind of dread it because of the Bale factor, I have to admit.

but even there "conveying actual emotion" wasn't something the character really required

Hahahahahaha.

It pisses me off how well Transformers 2 is doing. I'm totally with you there. It's making a shitload of money, and it's ridiculous. What is wrong with people! Says me, who paid money to see it. >.< Well, okay, not really me. Somebody paid for me. Does that absolve me? ;_;

I enjoyed The Hangover more than I thought I would. But yes, do be prepared for gross and WUT and OMGWTF if you do give it a shot.

I find myself agreeing with you on Christian Bale. It was actually something I thought about when I debated if I wanted to see the Terminator movie it was then I realized nothing Bale did after Equilibrium interested me. He isn't bad nor good just... average. There's no sparkle to him anymore. His acting bores me.

This was also when I came to the realization that Thomas Dekker became my John Connor. It surprised me but yeah, he works for me as John Connor.

He supposedly has the heart of the resistance. I saw no proof of this beyond being told that he does. His speechifying? Was speechifying. I was not motivated by his words nor was I convinced of his charisma.

Oh. Ugh. I've really heard nothing about this movie that would encourage me to like it and the above just solidifies my stance. I'm kinda siding with TSCC as my one true timeline.

Boring, yes! Bale bores the fuck out of me. I saw a comment the other day, and it's so true. Bale, for the last several movies, has been playing the same variation of Angry Sullen Guy. Which already in itself isn't interesting, but Bale injects it with no charisma whatsoever.

Word on Thomas Dekker becoming John Connor. He did a really good job, imo.

I said it after I saw the movie, and I'll say it again: I wish every single penny that went into making T:S went into making S3 of TSCC.
