Episode Three: Legends

Ugh. Crixus and Spartacus are so hot. Though I have to confess that Crixus doesn’t look like he has much going on upstairs. Lol. That might be an early judgment, but I think it makes him look adorable.

Ooo. Crixus lookin’ at the slave girlJ.

“Did you enjoy my victory?” “It’s no easy task to sever a man’s head.” Oh Crixus trying to impress. Lol.

Pause: Okay, so I said these reviews would be from the gut, as it were. I write what I feel while watching the episode. Well, it’s now the day after I watched the Crixus and Naevia scene. I had paused the episode to go take a shower, but I never got to continue it because something happened with my father, and we had to take him to the hospital. Life is…crazy/surprising. I feel unsettled right now. I’m the type of person who likes to reflect and think about the future and the past. Whenever something unexpected happens to me, I always think, “isn’t it weird how I totally didn’t see that coming an hour ago?” I’m 20 years old now, and I’m dealing with things that I didn’t have to worry about at…11 years old, let’s say. This is the third time in less than a year I’ve thought I lost my father, but he’s still here, thank God. Isn’t it weird how some hours ago I was giddy while watching Crixus attempt to spit game at Naevia, and now I’m going to continue with the episode, trying to recapture the blissfully unaware mood I was in before my dad’s accident?

Of course I had to re-watch the Crixus/Naevia scene. Poor Crixus. What he was saying to Lucretia about wanting her sounded/looked so false.

The Hole Filled with Crap: Eeeewwww!!!!!

“Don’t die to quickly.” “Me? I will f*ck your corpse.” Haahhhahha!!!!

I don’t get Spartacus. I mean Crixus is a bully and all, but he never harms people unnecessarily. Yet, Spartacus caused yet another person to get hurt (saying the sun drove the man mad). For what purpose? So that he’d face Crixus sooner? *Doesn’t get it.*

Crixus pining after Naevia: Squeee! Although he’s the champion of Capua and she’s just a slave girl, it seems to me that he feels inadequate in her presence. Which gives him character!

Ilithyia cracks me up with her obvious lust for the gladiators.

Crixus smiling because Naevia looked at him!!!!

Aw, man! Poor Spartacus’ friend having to sleep with that woman! They treat and talk about the gladiators like animals. That scene was very disturbing and uncomfortable.

Ugh. So Spartacus reached his goal and will be facing Crixus. I do not feel it was earned. It’s official. Spartacus
Crixus/Naevia scene in the wine cellar! *Clutches heart* He is good with swords not words. I so called it! And his gift to her! *Clutches heart again.* I officially love them!

Um. Spartacus’ cockyness is not endearing. I would greatly appreciate if he would fear Crixus. I also have to say that I like the mythology in this (the prison story about the Shadow of Death). They don’t treat it like a myth even though Spartacus is always scoffing at it. They show flashbacks of these great battles that forged some of these gladiators’ reputations. Ooo. So it was Doctore who fought the Shadow of Death and lived. I thought they were going to say Crixus. Love it!

Why is Spartacus such a bitch?! Crixus had his back turned, you dingbat!!!

Yes, kick his ass, Crixus!!!!!

Aw, Spartacus surrendered. That actually touched me. A moment of growth, it was.

That’s right. Spartacus better recognize Crixus’ reputation. Thank you!

Two things I want to mention to end this review: I felt bad during the scene where Spartacus’ friend was forced to cheat on his wife, but he spent the rest of the episode not feeling bad about it, other than the I’m sorry he grunted to his wife before he climaxed. I was disappointed with that, and it made me feel less sorry for him. It made me feel like he kind of enjoyed it.

Second, the actress who plays Ilithyia is really good.
