i was watching a documentary on jazz, and how it was labled the devil's music, and stuff like that and it just made me crack up. because it exemplified how music always pushes the envelope. every bit of popular was at one point new and upcoming fringe music that the established powers labeled as immoral and wrong. it also kinda funny to me, how every generation goes through the process of their elders railing against their music, then when they grow up do the same thing. it's funny to me how it goes in cycles with each generation doing to the next what was done to them, seemingly forgetting where they came from. it's just amusing how people will so easily do unto others what they hated being done to them, and often not realize it, because they tell themselves it's completely different when it's pretty much the same thing.  each generation has their limits. The adults in the 70s thought shake your groove thing was horrific and scandalous, and yet most of us barely bat an eye when presented with some of the ranchy lyrics of today. i wonder what music will be in the future, what will make us shake our heads in disgust, with our children vehemently protesting againt our attempted censorship, i wonder if we too will have forgotten how it felt to be on the other side.

now for the introduction of a new feature, the random rant of the day.this will be a short rant that will appear in every post from now. so without further ado:

Random Rant of the Day: Vh1

Does anyone else watch those vh1 list shows and just struggle with their emotions? i sit through trash like "celebrity feuds" "battle of the siblings" and  i often just lose it when i see the 500th person with "comedian/actor" under their name and start yelling "get a real job you damn blood sucker". i always end up getting in trouble with my grandmother which just gets me angrier. i just hope they arent getting paid for that shit, because everyone and their mother does that shit with their friends for free. another thing that gets me angry is all the editors of like teen people and j-27  and t-14 that start giving their "inside info" on celebs and shit. i always end up yelling "it's a good thing your parents saved up to put you through journalism school  huh?, so you could kiss some anorexic ditz' ass, huh dipshit? " and then my grandma comes and bitches at me again. So i basically have given up on the list shows. unfortunately that's about all Vh1 plays now( well that and d list celebrities embarrassing themselves), so i dont watch vh1 anymore.

a Jehovah's witness once told my grandmother, "oh marie you are so nice, even if you are not a true beleiver we'll take you with us to heaven" yeah she's that nice

She's independent and self sufficient, and she modeled her hair after miriam makeba, which caused people to label her a lesbian (even with two daughters). she also learned to speak english in jamaica so she has a moderate jamaican accent. much love grandma.

my Tatie (aunt) bichon, she checks people in at delta, and so she's met a bunch of celebrities and athletes. she said that trick daddy was very polite and nice despite looking thuggish, and that lil jon looked unclean. ayo's always mad because she never gets autographs for her.

Sarah's whupping me in Halo, you can see the big grin on her face. Dumb beginner's luck wins every time man.

Ayo and sarah dont always get along as you can see.

we start em reading early in the jolibois household.

sarah's grill. two of those teeth she lost naturally, and the other two she lost when, in a fit of rage, she bit into a leather couch, unfortunately for her the teeth stayed on the couch.

i think the caffeine was a little too much for her. it keeps her up real late. once i let her have a sip, and she called me at midnight from her house "just to say hi". i learned my damn lesson real quick.

that it for now. bye y'all
