(no subject)
i don't even know where to start.
this past weekend was an exercise in sleep deprivation. margaret and i went up to sarnia for aidan's 4th birthday party. i slept 3 hours thursday night because i was out exploring. friday i worked from 12-5, then had class from 6-9. i didn't sleep that night because i was working on a giant dinosaur mural for aidan. we left saturday morning around 7, partied dinosaur style with a bunch of kids, i ate amazing steak, and went to bed around midnight. woke up and we were on the road again by 5 sunday morning. i had to be back in chicago to work from noon-10. i made it with 15 minutes to spare.
crazy times, but totally worth it.
aidan is such a sweet kid. i love getting to be a part of his life and my niece's. also, i love spreading dinosaur propaganda to him. i got him a dinosaur umbrella, and two large foam dinosaur figures by animal planet, plus the dinosaur mural. listened to him seeing the mural for the first time hung up in his room over the phone. "wow. cool. yeah!" four year olds have an awesome vocabulary. when asked which was his favourite part he said he liked the one that had his name on it. "it says aidan. A.I.D.A.N" my brother asked what that spelled. "it spells me! it spells me!"

my work situation is kind of bad right now. personally, the owners and i are getting on better, so that's good. everyone is quitting or wants to, however. kyla's on her last week. she has two teaching jobs now, plus working at a haunted house in october and starting to get ready for her new play. our two new girls...one might be getting fired and the other one might be quitting because she doesn't want to work weekends. nate wants to quit because he gets treated like crap. jen wants to quit because she's just unhappy there. we have a couple of other people who work, too, but not that much... so the people who work the majority of hours all want to leave.
aaaaaaaaah.
i don't really want that to happen. but if it does, i'd like them to wait three weekends so that i can easily go to toronto over canadian thanksgiving weekend. is that so much to ask?
i'm going regardless. what are they going to do, fire me? nuh uh.
i'm going to the zoo on saturday! i haven't been there before. the only other time i've been to a zoo was in cape may.
despite the fact that i'm a terrible slacker, i'm doing really well in school. i really should work on the whole procrastinating thing, though...just so that it doesn't affect my sleep when i finally get to the point where i can't avoid things any more.
i need to put more time into my photo class, too. but i just feel like i can get all that done very quickly. over confidence? perhaps.
thursday is bad teen movie day with kaicy. also exciting.
i wish i was a sleep camel. that'd be convenient.
