Yimi's not going to Canada any more. Nothing to do with me; it was him who made that happen. Because I was wrong; the story he spun me, as the 'truth' was actually a completely different tale to the 'truth' he'd told her. Two different variations of 'nothing-at-all-was-my-fault'. I'm glad to know that, because he bluffed me damned good and at one point I almost believed him (except over the claimed existence of LadyRin, which I proved wasn't true and he ignored me). But yes, he was lying, and he seems to have faked his own death entirely for fun, to hurt a lot of people on purpose, which is far worse than anything anyone else has been banned for. He'd ensnared Yimi by lying and lying, and I'm glad that she's decided she's probably done with him. So he was unrepentant, unchanged, and probably dangerous.

He's also vanished.

He went to ground on the 7th. There was no external reason to do so, as far as I know - Wyn, Yimi et al were happily fawning over him over on the Wynd, and he had a nice little following on GG (though Dat was there telling people about the 'death' thing - but these being Gaians, no one was listening). He's started a new identity there now - hovering around Yimi, pretending to be yet another person... Wyn's being wishful and claiming that it's not really him, but some imposter - well, it's not, I'm sure you'd agree if you looked at it, and I've got a GG mod to get me the IP so I can prove it. Anyhow, it looks like he's away from our members for good, and they're orders of magnitude better off, IMO.

I don't think you can say that what he did was just a hazard of cyberspace, any more than you can write off murderers as just a hazard of RL. It's a threat that needs tackling, fighting, condemning, not just shrugging off as 'shit happens'. It's sounding almost like you condone what he did, if you say that. Is it wrong to say that we don't want these people? Is it wrong to try and punish them, deter them, protect our members from them? I know you believe in forgiveness - so do I, of course - but this man never meant a word he said, especially not 'sorry', and I'm very glad I banned him. My first real banning, too - I seem to forgive more than you, in fact.

Oh, and for the record, I did do an IP check and came up with an untraceable network number (whereas most of the other people I tried it on came up with accurate street addresses - doesn't prove anything, except that I tried and it's weird that he's still the only one who doesn't exist on paper), and I didn't leak to Teh Posse, and couldn't have done, because Teh Posse never existed - it was just a joke that they started because I think Kevin called them that once. More to the point, I leaked every which way I could because I wanted people to know, not just to a few select people. And it was Kevin, not me, who wanted him banned the most.

All the best,
Thene
