"No one has ever escaped from Alcatraz. And no one ever will."

This is Evins on test day Friday, half an hour to go. Theory of Computation. This will be interesting because I never bought a book for this class. And I never will. I'm not a computer major anyway. I've had it with buying books and then never looking in them. So, with my foot planted firmly on the floor, I'm spending part of this time looking on the Internet for definitions of stuff that I'm sure I think I've heard in class, I guess. I hope I did.

Listen, don't buy textbooks. Anymore. All they are good for is listing homework problems. All you have to do is listen in class for the information you need. That's hard to do, but it costs less. I mean I've never heard of anybody buying a book on the Internet, then selling it back to the local bookstore at a profit, and that's the most extreme case there can be. You can't sell it back on the Internet for a profit unless somebody buys it without being smart enough to look and find the same book at a lower price, i.e. the original price. Plus even if you fail or get kicked out at least you'll have some extra cash to spend. And if you pass you'll have some extra cash to spend also. It's a win-win!
