A Pleasant New Year's Eve
Happy New Year's Everyone!
I spent the night at Lytheria (fannish rooming house in Milwaukee that many of you are familiar with), and saw a lot of folks, including tigertoy , filkart , ithiriel , wyld_dandelyon , among many others. (Thought I'd see beigealert there, but didn't. Maybe next time?) (Apologies to anyone else whose names I don't have down yet on LJ.) Was a good evening. I didn't get to see the long string of the year's most fun and interesting commercials. The room was already too packed for the first run by the time I got there, and the second run started just as I was feeling like it was time to head home. The filk was in the 3rd floor hall again (Yes, the house is BIG). Nice and far from most of the other sound-generating events, but it was still a bit cosy with about ten people in the one place. Made Barisha happy, but the rest of us were a bit on the warm side. Even so, there was good music as always. I was tickled when I realized how many people could now sing along with my arrangement of Gashley Crumb Tinies. The only downside was Barisha, Carol & I never managed to squeeze in any of the trio stuff we worked on this fall for OVFF.
One additional note that I almost forgot. One of the most popular songs of the evening was when wyld_dandelyon sang "Dumb, Dumb Dorothy" by the ever-talented ladyat . (Kudos to the the performer and to the writer!)
