Lifeforce. The director of
Poltergeist? The writer of
Alien?
Patrick Stewart?
Henry Mancini? Ok, cool, let's check it out.
Holy fuck. Good thing it came packaged cheap with Alien and
Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Ok, so Stewart's in it for about five minutes, during most of which he's playing a female alien vampire under the influence of mind-altering drugs.
The absurdly gratuitous nudity of
Mathilda May included, almost every moment of this film borders on absurdity cleanly blended with a possibly drug-induced haze. It was like one of those creative writing games where you pass the story to a different author every scene or so.
It was vaguely reminiscent of
28 Days Later, Alien, and of all things
Ghostbusters (alien vampires sucking souls in London looks just like the containment breach in New York).
