WAR! huh... good god, y'all! what is it good for?...
so last night C andi finally went to go see that flick Children of Men.
dude, it was soo intense! like really. it gave a pretty grim depiction of what the world might come to if we continue our ridiculous shenanigans around the world. almost as if it was Fate's way of punishing us for our impudence and mayhem by making us infertile. what's the point in continuing the species if we're all driving ourselves toward disaster?
it alsoplaced a high level of respect for human life seeing as that producing it naturally was such a challenge. if that really was the case people would totally think twice about killing people on a whim the way we do. but on the same token, we are sometimes so foolish as to lose sight of what's really important: protecting life. like in that scene where Kee walks out of that building holding her baby and everyone is in awe, they even drop to their knees and weep at the sight of a newborn. but then an explosion goesoff and they go back to shooting and blowing shit up. man, priorities are so out of whack! it really made you think.
i wasn't prepared for such an intense story line, but i really admired this movie. a lot of stuff was disturbing to watch, but michael caine threw in some good comic relief.
