Yeah!! I can not believe it has been over 2 weeks since my last entry!!
That’s what I get for having the worst luck in the world. First I sprain the same ankle for the second time this year, then my computer decides it no longer wants a relationship with me and then a major project a work was picked up and that took most of my time. Not to mention the weddings, baby showers, house-warming parties and etc that I was invited too.
So I was crutch bound, personal computer-less and actually having to work at work (who does that?!).
But things are finally looking up! I don’t need those blasted crutches but I’m still walking like a gimp, I bought my NEW computer and finally have it set up BUT I’m still doing work at work LOL
But heya!! Part 4 of Pepa and Silvia’s Journal Entries are up!! I will try to get Part 5 typed up as soon as possible.

16 Years Old
Pepa
The parents have been fighting. They have been fighting for a while.
It started with the small stuff like who left the empty curvezas bottles on the dining table but then it moved to why the bills were not paid on time and so forth.
I used to take the blame but when I said I was the one who left the jam bottle lid open, Mama knew I was lying - I don’t eat that flavor of jam.
Sigh… I can’t take the constant yelling. I just need to be alone.
I hate this - Happy Birthday to me.
Silvia
I have been trying to get a hold of Pepa all day.
I wanted to wish her a happy birthday but no one knew where she went.
Happy 16th Birthday Pepa…. Where ever you are.

Pepa
I told Silvia that my parents have been fighting. It felt right telling her.
I think I’m …. with Silvia…?
Silvia
I heard from Lola who knew from Paco that Pepa did nothing on her 16th birthday. They actually had no idea where she went.
So I decided to give Pepa the sweet 16th birthday she deserved.
I left her a note to meet me at our tree and when she arrived (on time too!), she was welcomed with a Silvia Castro Picnic! With the help of Lola, I had the best jamon in Madrid, top with cold camaron, olives and goat cheese! I also served a bottle of vino that I borrowed from Papa’s cabinet.
Pepa didn’t have to say anything. That huge smile that I have come to adored was more the enough to say she loved it.
I knew she was happy by the surprise picnic but I could tell something was still bothering her. So I took her hands in mine and asked her to tell me what was wrong if she was ready.
It was a shock to hear that Pepa and Paco’s parents were fighting. They had always seemed so sincere and in love with each other. But the fighting was strictly at their casa which made Pepa feel so helpless. Pepa had mentioned the fighting with Paco but he couldn’t do much either. Not to mention that he had his own problems to deal with.
I wanted to show Pepa that I cared about what she was going through, so I gave her a hug and told her everything was going to be okay. She tried to fight me off but I wouldn’t let her go.
I told her she should not feel hopeless because Spain would not be the same without her happy spirit.
We hugged again and this time, Pepa didn’t let go.

I KNEW my First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training would be useful!!
A month ago I had begged Pepa to take the course with me but she said it was a waste of her time. Well I just proved that it wasn’t such a waste!
Earlier in the afternoon, I was studying my chemistry textbook at the local futbol field while watching Pepa and the chicos play a quick game. When the game was over, Pepa stayed behind to practice a few moves. I decided to stay behind until Pepa was done.
As I was reciting the Periodic Element Table in my head, I heard a shrilling cry of pain! I looked up from my textbook and saw Pepa laying motionless on the grass!
I quickly ran to her and find her unresponsive and an ugly gash on her forehead. I started to panic and tried to wake her but she still wasn’t moving.
Then my CPR training came into play.
Step 1
Check Scene/Surroundings - Futbol field, all clear!
Step 2
Send for help - well there was no one around so I couldn’t do that
Step 3
Check for Consciousness - Well, that was the first thing I had done…. Oops…
Step 4
Check Breathing and Pulse - I think I was too excited when I did this step because I was checking her neck for a pulse but couldn’t feel anything. I resorted to placing my ear on her chest but I couldn’t figure out if it was her heartbeat or a car honking I was hearing!!
Step 5
Vale! One hand on forehead, two fingers on chin and tilt head. Check and open air way. There still wasn’t any breathing from Pepa and I took a deep breath, thinking “I’m going to save Pepa!” , and lower to give my first breath.
All the sudden, Pepa starting flaying her arms and screamed “I’m alive! I’m awake!” Then she quickly rolled away from me!
Bad move! Her sudden move made her realized she had a goosebump on her forehead and she clutched her head in pain. After Pepa’s series of swearing, we finally went to the hospital for “proper care”.
Pepa
Dios! My head!!
I was practicing my footwork on the futbol field when the last thing I remembered was stepping on the ball at an awkward angle and my head heading towards the futbol post.
The next thing I remember, Pelirroja’s WIDE OPEN mouth coming down on me!!
I don’t know why I freaked out, but I did! I quickly got away from her but paid the priced. The sudden movement made my head hurt even more!!
JODER!!

Pepa
My driver’s exam is in a couple weeks. Paco and Papa have been taking me to practice in their cars a few times but it’s been awhile.
Since Pelirroja already had her driver’s license I asked her if she could take me out for a practice run. No where special, just at an empty parking lot, I told her.
She over-happily agreed and we met at the empty lot behind the San Antonio Precinct. Silvia said she would bring her vehicle but I didn’t expect a brand new Audi!! Geesh, Don Lo spoils this princesa!!
I didn’t feel comfortable driving Pelirroja’s new vehicle but she told me it was okay and nothing was going to happen because she trusted me. In fact, she even made flash cards of driving questions and had print outs of different techniques that could be done. Her prize for me getting a question right, a gold star sticker! Oh Pelirroja!!
We were having way too much fun because whenever I did a proper hand over hand maneuver or a shoulder check at the appropriate times, Pelirroja would place a gold star on my cheek! I had about 50 stars all over my face!! I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire time!!
I was about to do my ‘final test’ (as Silvia put it), the angle park. I was driving towards the side of the building when at the corner of my eye I saw Don Lo running towards us. He was screaming his head off while Paco and Mariano were trailing behind him.
All I remember hearing from Don Lo’s was” Maria Jose Miranda!! Get out of MY CAR!”
That was when I turned to Silvia. I knew from the look on her face that I was driving her Papa’s car!!
I went to slam on the brakes to stop the car but I ended up slamming on the gas pedal! We fled forward and crashed right into side of the building!!
Next, I was yanked out of the car and tossed on the pavement. Don Lo was shouting, screaming, and cursing. You name it, he was doing it. Paco was bumbling like an idiot and Mariano was helping Silvia out of the car.
Don Lo continued his rant but my gaze was at Silvia. She had her hands in her pocket and she wouldn’t even look at me in the eye. She wouldn’t even pipe up to say anything.
When Paco got me home, the parents were already fighting.
Silvia
This morning I ran to the mall and bought blank flash cards, gold stars stickers and a simple silver bracelet. The bracelet was the final prize for Pepa.
Then I rushed back home to fill out driving and skill questions on the flash cards because Pepa had asked me to take her for a driver’s practice.
After, I rushed to the garage to find my car missing!! I completely forgot I loaned my car to Papa as he didn’t want to drive his brand new Audi. I eyed Papa’s Audi and figured… nothing could happen? Right?
So I took Papa’s car and met Pepa at the empty lot behind the precinct. I didn’t want to freak Pepa out so I didn’t tell her it was Papa’s but I didn’t tell her that it was not mine.
We started with the basic turns around the lot and moved into different signals and rules. The gold star stickers were a prize Pepa would get if she answered my flash card questions correctly. I planned to put them on the flash cards but spontaneously started putting them on her face!! Just hearing her giggle made me continue to do it and soon enough we were laughing constantly!!
I was having so much fun that I didn’t hear Papa’s screaming until it was too late. Pepa slammed on the gas pedal and we crashed right into the side of the building!!
Joder! How stupid was I to plan this driver’s practice beside the Precinct!!
Somehow Pepa was already out of the vehicle and Mariano was as my side of the car to make sure I was okay. I could hear Paco’s senseless stuttering but Papa’s was loud and clear. He was saying that Pepa somehow stole his car and took me along for the joy ride. He even went to say that he should be throwing Pepa in jail for driving without a valid license!
I wanted to speak up but I choked back on my words.
I could feel Pepa glaring at me but I couldn’t force myself to look at her. I kept my head down and my hands in my pocket.
I remembered watching Pepa wipe the gold stars off her face and I was holding the silver bracelet in my pocket.

Silvia
Of all the luck! I don’t know why or how Pepa convinced me to skip school with her!
But she kept saying I owed her for all the trouble she (or we) got into during our car ‘accident’ a month ago.
But Dios! Pepa wanted to buy some marijuana first! So she took me to a park and we met up with some guy that Lucas knew who would sell some to Pepa.
Before I knew it, we were surrounded by police officers and forced down to the ground! I had my hands over my head, trying to hold back my tears! But the tremors started when I heard PAPA’s VOICE!!
I looked up and saw Papa, Paco and Mariano! They were commanding this marijuana bust!
There were so many things happening! I could heard Pepa cursing under her breathe! Mariano and Paco was blabbing in shock but nothing was making sense!!
But it was eerie not hearing Papa speak... until he said to take the guy and Pepa to the precinct.
What?? Not me?! I wasn’t going to let that happen! I was with Pepa the entire time so I was just a guilty in this bust! I was ALSO going to take the fault for this and not leave Pepa stranded like the last time!
So I got up from the ground and demanded them to arrest me too!! Papa scoffed and told me to get into the car and he would drive me home.
But I refused. I stood my ground beside Pepa and said I wasn’t going anywhere without Pepa.
... Then we were in lock up.... :(
Pepa
Joder!! The angry man won't give me a break!!
How did skipping school with Pelirroja and buying a couple joints lead us in jail and in bigger shit?!
JODER!
When I saw those policemen surround us and demand us to get down on the floor, I knew Don Lo was nearby. He had to be! Because something this bizarre had to include Don Lo! That was my luck!
I just didn’t expect Paco to be there... the look of disappointment on his face tore me apart. I didn’t even want to think what Mama and Papa would say when they found out.
This time I knew Don Lo was going to throw my ass in jail. Don Lo has been waiting to do it since I was 7 years old.
What I didn’t expect was Silvia demanding to be arrested too!
Princesa? Really? You wanted to go with me?
But she was serious. She stared her Papa down and refused to go anywhere unless it was to the precinct with me. I half expected her to throw the handcuffs on her wrist and tossed herself in the backseat of the police cruiser.

Pepa
So I expected to be grounded because that would have been nothing to me. I have been grounded way too many times to care anymore.
But work at Los Cachi’s for a month? I love Lola but sweeping the floors and washing the dishes? Sigh... it was either that or chores around the house. And I rather be out of the house then listening to the fights.
The worst of the punishment, Papa agreed with Don Lo that Silvia and I were NOT allowed to see each other.
HA! To bad they couldn’t monitor us at school!! Hahahaha!!!
Silvia
Papa’s not really smart. He forbids me to talk and see Pepa but I see her all the time at school! I still talk to her at school and he has no clue!!
And when Pepa’s parents made Pepa work the Los Cachi’s as a punishment, I see and talk to her there. Lola knows about Papa’s rules but she pretends like she doesn’t see us talking :) I love you, Lola!
Haha! One time Papa and I were having supper at Los Cachi’s and Pepa was behind the counter cleaning utensils. We started making silly faces at each other whenever Papa wasn’t looking.
Then Pepa starting leaving silly notes underneath my dinner plate, water glass or whatever I ordered. Notes that said “Hey Princesa!” or “Guess who?”
I would send notes back saying “Hey MA-RI-A!” and “You missed a spot!”
Hahahahaha! Papa’s not smart at all!!

Silvia
I had my first joint last night.
I also drank way too much tequila that I don’t recall most of the night.
Pepa’s parents went out to the country for the weekend so I wanted to keep Pepa company.
I told Papa I was sleeping over at a friends place. Which technically I was.
At Pepa’s we were drinking and jumping to the blaring music, then Pepa pulled out some rolled joints and began smoking it.
That was when I asked Pepa if I could try one.
She passed the neatly rolled stick and lit it up.
I took one puff and floated away.
Pepa
I shouldn’t have given Silvia that joint. She’s just a baby!!
But it was too late after she took her first puff. Pelirroja bouncing off the walls!!
She actually finished the joint by herself and drank more tequila afterwards that I even couldn’t keep up!!
It was getting late and we were both lying next to each other on my bed when Pelirroja said she really wanted to kiss someone right now.
She kept asking me to describe my first kiss so I tried to give her some details without showing my discomforted.
I ALMOST fell off the bed when Silvia suggested that WE KISS!! She quickly brushed it off as and joke and started pinching me. I pinched back and it erupted into a wrestling match!
Rojo is stronger than I thought!! She ended up pinning me down with her full weight... and we paused.
My eyes were on hers but hers were on my lips. I quickly rolled her off me but ended up on top of her!!
She was still staring at my lips through her heavy eyelids and brushed the pad of her thumb against my lower lip.
A moan escaped from my throat and I lowered my head to kiss her.
My heart ached from the soft touch of our lips joined together. My insides jellied and I had to hold the growing hunger that shivered through my body.
I knew what I was feeling now...
I’m in love with Silvia Castro... and she was asleep when it happened.

Pepa
Silvia Castro broke me with one kiss. One kiss that I only remembered. Actually it was a half-sided kiss because technically Silvia did not kiss back!
Man... after that night, I went on a series of dates with boys! Men!
I had to compare their kisses with the one I felt with Silvia.
They didn’t compare... not even close.
My kiss with Pelirroja was extraordinary. It left me breathless and wanting more. I made me want to drown in her scent and lose myself in reckless abandonment. It left me wanting my princesa.
They say you never forget your first kiss. I’m never going to forget my first with Silvia.
Silvia Castro broke me.
Silvia
Papa is still not budging on lifting this stupid ‘No Pepa’ ban.
Sigh... I’ll keep working on it.
Papa can be so stubborn. Reminds me of certain girl I know.
