- When you plan to mix two things in the same bowl, mix the one inclusive of cocoa powder second. You don’t want to wash that bowl three times today.
- Or the measuring spoons.
- Thank goodness I have a set of emergency-backup measuring cups.
- Decide whether a) to melt your butter-or-margarine, or b) to use your pastry-cutter. Don’t do both. You will not double your efficiency.
- If the cookie dough looks awfully dry, check that you didn’t forget to include something moist. Maybe an egg? I know you’ve already read the recipe several times, but you never know.
- Although a dry dough in "cookie" format does work a lot better for the "getting into the oven" stage, so much surface area can be awfully crumbly.
