Again I made "Decadent Brownies" from Garden of Vegan.
Substitutions:
- milk for soy milk
- ½ cup peanut butter and ¾ cup chocolate chips for ⅓ cup olive oil and ¾ cup chopped nuts
The batter was a bit thicker than I like it (slightly more nuisant to pour out), so maybe I'll add more milk (perhaps 2 cups rather than 1½) next time I make these with peanut butter.
I'd pondered using carob instead of cocoa (because we have more of that, and it's older), but then I realised it would taste odd with the chocolate chips. Will try peanut butter and carob another time, though.
While our houseguests were still here, I tried adding some peppermint flavouring to a batch of brownies which was untasteable in the finished product, although it did smell pleasant while it cooked.
