So I have not posted in for-fucking-ever, and I want to kind of get back into that, but I have nothing to talk about except for being depressed/whiny/clingy/whatever, not even my dissertation, because it is finished.

Fortunately, just today roguebelle came to my rescue with a 30 Days meme that I actually want to do because it is about Shakespeare, and ( Read more... )

I'm so tempted by this meme. And I CANNOT WAIT to read all your answers. Normally I hate these memes and skip over all posts relating to them, but a Shakespeare one! That is QUITE DIFFERENT. XD

I actually really love R&J, but I dunno if it'd be my first choice to teach to high school students. (I think I'd pick Macbeth -- it's short, and newcomers to Shakespeare often seem to respond well to it.)

My favorite tragedy in high school was King Lear, which was never, ever taught. I don't know why. Surely plenty of teens can relate to god-awful parents?

This is the first 30 days meme I've been legitimately tempted by, but oh god, coming up with answers to all of them. Picking favorites is hard!

I, too, need to dig out Richard again. (And the Romantic reading of the play never really clicked with me, either. But the Romantic readings of lots of things generally don't.)

Picking favorites is hard!

This is my problem too. I mean, having to pick ONE play/character/scene/speech? Gah.

Well, I won't, like, hunt you down if you have to post more than one... ;) I mean, I'm likely to have to do so myself, anyway.
