Bush-Whacking!! :D (in the non-political sense)

So, this morning dad and I drove out to the campus to go bird watching, it being a holiday and everyone was driving into the citry to go for walks in the nature park, and I got to drive out.

Fairly light traffic most of the way, except for one small traffic jam in front of a temple where people were stopping to pooja their vehicles (by vehicles, I mean anything with a motor: cars, busses, tractors, lorrys, ect.) but for the most part all was fine and dandy.

Then we had several hours of great fun driving around in grass tall enough that we couldn't see the road, chasing bridies and doing as much damage to the poor car as we could manage. By the end of it I had driven off the road into a tree, dad had backed out of it with me pushing from the front, we collected about two kilos of grass seeds on our windshield, dad managed to destroy the above ground porttions of three termite mounds (without getting high centered, which he has done before) and we drove through somewhere between 10 and 20 kilometers of grass that was over 40 cm tall (a good deal of
which became attatched to the front bumper).

Most entertaining moments:
-getting stuck in the tree
-realizing the road had a tree growing in it so you had to drive off the road and into the complete mess beside it to get through (I got to drive for this part XD)
-running over the termite mounds
-finding about 15 molted peacock feathers
-getting a thorn in my foot collecting said feathers for cat toys
-dad forgetting to break while going over some vicious mud-ruts

Total danages to car:
-front bumper loosened
-horn disabled (it sounds like it's stuffed full of clarinet reeds now XD I can't stop laughing at it)
-rear passenger-side (left) tire seems to be going flat
-assorted sticks, twigs and grass attatched to undercariage

*grins* And this time, nothing fell off. ^-^ This should tell you something about our mutual, off (paved) road driving habits... or the terrain.

And yes, in case anyone's wondering, the tree I ran into is not likely to survive...

(cross-posted to my forum because I'm lazy and I want the experience points :} )
