How can you sleep when the world is burning?
I haven't posted here in more than a month. I have too much to say. I have no words.
It is all grief, anger, fear, determination, resolution, and so much more. But I have been writing and commenting more on Facebook. I have been speaking up in face-to-face conversations. I need to do it, because words matter. My words matter.
I "co-sponsored" a donation matching "initiative." The quotation marks are there because it's something that a friend of mine came up with, when he promised to match other people's donations to political campaigns, and I joined in his promise, making it a 2X match (for a total 3X contribution). Two more people joined the idea after that, making it a 5X contribution overall. That was powerful and reassuring in many ways, and also a way to hear from different people from my past and present friends' circles.
I want to do more. We all need to do more.
