Sewing machines?
As in, does anybody know how to work one? Aaages ago now I was given an old electric sewing machine, and always intended to figure out how to use the damn thing and indeed if it works, but never quite got round to it (as you do).
However, I now have a job to do that really would take forever to sew by hand (hemming 5m of fabric for a baby sling). The last time I used a sewing machine was probably in school textile lessons, and I was scared of it then. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can teach myself (online resources esp welcome)? NB if anyone localish can give me a hand with this in person I will feed you lunch/tea in return!
