Raya sat in the middle of the living room floor flipping through random Japanese rock magazines waiting for the arrival of her ‘partner in crime’. It had been a couple months since they had met up at their summer home in Japan. They both had jobs and obligations in the U.S. that required them to commute back and forth.
The home was very dusty, and she discovered they had a water leak in one of the bedroom ceilings. Too tired, and too lazy to deal with any of it she let it go and busied herself catching up on the latest activity of her favorite bands.
A few were on tours around Japan and abroad, a couple on indefinite hiatus, and even a disbandment. This summer wasn’t sounding promising as most of her favorite bands didn’t seem to be anywhere near Tokyo till almost the time they would be leaving to go back to the U.S.
She sighed to herself and continued flipping through pages when she heard the front door lock being turned and the door open. She immediately flew up off the floor to greet her friend.
“Brina!” she cried, tackling her unsuspecting roommate.
They both fell to the floor laughing, groceries flying everywhere.
“Oops, sorry” Raya giggled.
“Happy to see me I take it?“ Sabrina laughed, picking up her groceries off the floor.
“Of course! it’s been two and a half months since I last seen you! You didn’t miss me?” she replied, pouting.
Sabrina looked at her as if she had sprouted another pair of eyes. “You didn’t exactly give me a chance yet to say how much I’ve missed you!” she said as she grabbed Raya and pulled her into a bear hug. “Silly…”
They busied themselves chatting about how their flights were and how life was going back home as they put groceries away and started dinner.
“So…” Raya began “I’ve been reading the hot sheets and well….looks like this isn’t going to be much of a summer. “
“Oh? Why’s that?” Sabrina asked.
“Tours, hiatus and disbandments, we’re gonna have to grab what we can I guess! And while we’re here I can’t leave without seeing CELLT! I’m completely obsessed with them lately” she cried.
“Haha okok, we can see CELLT before we go back home, I wouldn’t mind seeing them myself! Ok, so who are we looking at this summer?”
“Hmm…didn’t really give it much thought before you came in. I only just got here a couple hours ago myself.”
They continued to discuss back and forth over their meal on who their next target(s) were going to be. Of course the possibilities were always endless, but why settle when you can have the best? ‘The List’ was brought out onto the table and Raya marked off the ones that were on tour, hiatus or disbanded.
“Hey wait…” Sabrina interrupted.
Raya looked up, confused.
“Just because a band has disbanded doesn’t make the person any less desirable. Well…to me anyway. “ Sabrina said.
“Hm….well, your right. But it’ll take us time to find them if their not gathering at their studio’s for practice. I don’t know about you but I don’t know where they live!”
Sabrina laughed, nodding her agreement. It was true, they never found out where any of their favorite jrockers lived until after their kidnapping and she really didn’t feel like expending the extra energy to find out either.
They eventually settle on what they would do and now all they needed was to gather the right intel, supplies and set the dates.

Three weeks later after all their scheming had been completed and their plans laid out before them they patted each other on the back. They put a lot of work into everything to make sure everything was set into motion. Their plans turned out a bit differently then in previous missions. They were expecting their targets to be more prepared and more smarter then previous targets. Mainly due to the jrockers they’ve already had successful missions on.
The jrockers already captured could have helped others in any way possible so that they might be able to defeat us. It was highly unlikely after their post-kidnapping ‘therapy’ sessions, but the chance was still there.
Raya put the plan into motion on a late Friday evening. Byou was known to be the ladies man, and as far as they knew wouldn’t turn down the company of a pretty lately. Raya dressed herself up as sexy as she could before taking off into downtown Tokyo, Sabrina behind the wheel.
They spent the last three weeks staking out each bar and nightclub closest to ScReW’s studio before finally stumbling, almost literally, onto them in a club called ‘5’. It wasn’t a large club nor was it small by any means. It seemed to provide the discreet cover they wanted, but didn’t get when they were unknowingly found.
Sabrina dropped Raya off at the front entrance to the nightclub, the music filtering into the streets even though the front doors were closed. A line of people wanting to get into the club lined up outside, some taking advantage of the music filtering outside and dancing to the beat.
“Raya?”
“Yea?” she replied.
“Uhm…I hope you thought about how to get in there. Doesn’t look like their letting very many people in. I didn’t think this place looked that exclusive when we were checking this place out.”
“It’s not really, maybe there’s something going on tonight. Don’t worry though, I got it covered. The other day when we were here I was flirting with the bouncer over there, acted like I never been to Japan before and he stamped this card and said it would get me in” she said, holding up a white card with a big sparkling blue number 5 on it.
“You are sly, I should have known not to think you didn’t come prepared! Ok, you know the plan, keep in touch.” Sabrina said as Raya closed the car door.
“And don’t forget the emergency and back up plans!” Sabrina cried after her and Raya responded with a wave as she crossed the street. She saw her pull out the card to the bouncer managing the front door but he seemed to recognize her right away and she was let in right away. All she could do now was sit and wait for Raya to contact her.

Raya immediately began to canvas the club when she walked inside. There a good hundred or more people scattered all over the club. There were people at the bar, the dance floor, sitting at tables at on the balcony and standing at the tables surrounding the dance floor. She groaned realizing this was going to take a bit longer then she had expected. There were more people here then the previous Friday’s they had staked out the place on.
She quickly pulled out her cellphone and informed Sabrina she might be a while longer. She got a reply quickly, it only saying ‘Ok’. She knew she had to move fast, Sabrina would be getting impatient in the car and she really couldn’t blame her.
Time of was of the essence and she needed to loosen herself up quick and quickly meld into the crowd so she would blend in better without raising suspicion. She approached the bar and ordered her drink which was brought to her rather quickly. One shot, two shots and she was ready. Feeling the music she went onto the dance floor and began dancing by herself as she casually looked around the room to see if she could see Byou or anyone from his band.
She wasn’t having much luck and she was beginning to think they were not coming tonight when luck passed her by in the form of Jin. He was heading to the back of the club and up the stairs leading to the balcony. And there, at the very end of the balcony tables in a dark corner she saw her target as he watched Jin approach with their drinks.
She smiled to herself and was about to make her way up the same way Jin did when she looked down and realized a man was dancing with her. He was only slightly attractive, tall, medium build and smelled oddly of honey. She decided to go with it and danced with him, but never taking her eyes off Byou, hoping to grab his attention somehow.
She didn’t have to wait long though, a while later she realized he was watching her. Time to put on the charm she thought to herself. Never breaking eye contact she used the man dancing with her to be as sultry and seductive as possible. Swaying her hips as best she could, running her hands down her dress and back up again. It seemed to be working as they both never broke eye contact even as Manabu tried to get Byou’s attention.
She smirked to herself, knowing her plan worked, she got him exactly how she wanted him. Byou unknowingly helped their plan by standing and making his way to the dance floor to her. He quickly pushed the man dancing with her out of the way, never even looking at him as he walked off with a scowl on his face.
He placed his hands on her hips, immediately moving his body in time with hers. He traced almost every curve of her body with his hands, leaning in and breathing in her ear. Her legs began to turn to jelly as the realization occurred to her of just who was blowing into her ear. She shook herself, trying to keep her mind on their objective.
“I…I need a drink” she whispered heavily.
Byou smiled and grabbed her hand, leading her over to the bar, never once letting go of her. He ordered them both something, a drink name she didn’t recognize. They quickly downed their shots and Byou led her back over to the dance floor. On her way she reapplied her lip gloss, as the shot of the new drink flowed into her system.
A new song began to play and Byou grabbed Raya once again and started moving their bodies with the music, each beat bringing them closer and closer. Lips ghosting against lips until finally Byou kissed her. Raya’s world stopped, nothing else in the world existed except her, Byou and the kiss they shared. She couldn’t hear the music, or smell the musky air, or even the occasional brush of bodies from the surrounding crowd.
The kiss could have lasted forever and she wouldn’t have cared. But sadly Byou pulled away, leaving them both breathless as they leaned on each other for a bit of support.
“I don’t feel so well,” Byou whispered “I think I’m going to go sit down”.
Raya seized the opportunity quick and grabbed Byou by the arm leading him away from the balcony towards the tables closer to the entrance.
“I have a table over here where were we could be alone” she whispered into his ear.
She sat him down at the only empty table by the doors, not quite as close as she was hoping for but never the less it was still more out of sight to the rest of Byou’s band then they were on the dance floor.
Byou indeed didn’t look well and she started to panic she may have used a lil too much lip gloss on him. She pulled out her cellphone once again and texted Sabrina while she soothed Byou into only thinking it was the drinks and heat of the club making him feel funny.
She immediately got a text back saying she would be right outside the door and she needed to hurry before Byou became too unbearable to move on her own.
“Maybe some fresh air would help! Come on, this air is too smoky and hot” she suggested as she helped Byou to his feet and out of the club entrance.
Raya’s heart stopped as the bouncer stepped in front of her. He grabbed her hand and went to stamp it to be able to be let back in. She breath a sigh of relief and pulled her hand away before he could stamp her. “We won’t be needing that.” she told him.
Byou looked up at the words she spoke, and seeing the stamp in the bouncers hand he started to put two and two together. “Wait, what do you--”
“Come on now, the car is waiting for us” she interrupted him as loudly as she could.
Raya guided Byou to Sabrina’s car waiting in the pick-up/drop off lane in front of the club. He didn’t seem to have much strength to put up any kind of fight and got into the back seat of the car without much complaint. He kept looking from Raya to Sabrina with an utter look of confusion on his face.
“Raya? What happened?” Sabrina asked.
“I think I got a little too much lip gloss on” she replied sheepishly.
Sabrina looked into her review mirror as Byou stared off into the front of the car. Even she became a little worried, he should have been a little more responsive then he is.
“Do you think it reacted with the alcohol he consumed?” Raya asked.
“I don’t know…we’ll have to keep an eye on him until he seems to snap out of it. I don’t think he’s in any real danger, he doesn’t seem to be getting any worse.” Sabrina said, trying to reassure Raya.
The car trip home was set in stone silence, Byou had fallen asleep on Raya’s lap about halfway home. She monitored his vitals and made sure that he was ok. It was a struggle to get him into the home when he was half asleep as well as half drugged, but they were able to manage. They took turns staying up and watching over him as he slept off the affects of the alcohol and drug.
By late afternoon the next day he was fully awake and searching for his cellphone, which was conveniently turned off and left in the kitchen.
“Looking for something?” Sabrina asked as she watched Byou searching his clothes.
“My…cellphone…who are you?” he asked.
“Sabrina,” she replied “and this is Raya” she pointed to Raya as she joined her in the doorway.
“Don’t worry Byou, your going to be fine. We have your cellphone as well if that’s what your looking for.” Raya smirked.
Byou looked from Sabrina to Raya and back again. “How’d you know….oh shit”
Both Sabrina and Raya smiled to each other in accomplishment. Last night gave high hopes to them both that this would be there best summer yet.
