Interrogation.

Angel had been in a better mood after he woke up, sometime in the late afternoon. As soon as the sun had set, he'd gone out to get something to eat, then headed to the club again. It was an easy thing to find the drag queens, getting ready for their show in the backstage area.

Tallulah wasn't with them, because it was her night off, Fritzy explained. Ginger, ironically not the red-headed of the two but with long black, curly hair, remained silent, watching Angel intently.

He asked about Hayden, playing the worried, slightly territorial boyfriend. He didn't want Xander to be in danger if he started working at a club where people seemed to have a tendency to disappear, and he wanted to know more about this 'Hayden,' and whether they thought he'd just left town, or possibly been abducted. He let it be a little obvious that he was interrogating them, as that was his role.

Fritzy said Hayden had been there for years, since a little longer than when 'Harrison' had first shown up. Recently, he'd broken up with his boyfriend of several years, and been upset about it. Several patrons and regulars who knew him had talked with him about it, and it had seemed as if he was slowly getting over it.

Throughout all this information, it was Fritzy who talked. Ginger merely watched Angel, nodding occasionally in agreement with Fritzy. Angel wasn't normally one for attention anyway, and the undivided attention from Ginger made him uncomfortable, and then suspicious. Did Ginger ever talk?

"What's your take on all this?" he finally asked Ginger.

Ginger continued to stare at him, but after a moment, shrugged. "It's terrible," she said, in a surprisingly high, airy and feminine-sounding voice. "Poor Hayden. Tallulah was the last one to talk to him. They'd both started here around the same time, so they'd helped each other out before, too."

That was new information to Angel. "Tallulah? X--Harrison said she was really welcoming to him, too." In fact, Tallulah had been the one to first approach Xander the night before, almost as soon as the boy had entered the club.

"Mmh," Fritzy agreed, "she's a sweetheart. She even talked Jay into letting Daphne audition for a show. Too bad she's not here for it, now."

Angel nodded, his mind racing. Tallulah seemed to be there, somewhere, right before each of the victims disappeared. That didn't bode well.

Angel asked where Tallulah usually was on her nights off, and Fritzy said usually at the club, or with her boyfriend.

"But tonight, I think she said she was gonna visit with Harrison," Fritzy supplied. "Catch up on old times. She really missed him. We were all disappointed when he left, but Tallulah especially."

That was all Angel needed to hear. He thanked the two ladies, then went back to his car and headed back toward their motel. He hoped Xander would realize the danger he was in, before it was too late.
