Day 4

Jan 07, 2010 23:10

Ok, so today was not as exciting as the other days, but still good.

I woke up around noon. Oops! I then got dressed and headed to the study center so that I could get the final words from Sue. They were all in a mess due to flight delays and airport closures, but Sue showed me my classrooms, and I met the librarian, the only other temporary faculty over here. She is very nice, and we talked for awhile as I will prolly spend quite a bit of my time there, due to that is the location of the computer labs. There is not photoshop on the computers so I will have to find other ways for my students to do the work.

I then walked towards home and got sidetracked into the taking photos of the Duomo and then going inside. I sat there for a good long while and just found peace and quiet inside of me. I lit a candle at the little trees and shot some pictures. Traveling by yourself has its perks and well as its disadvantages, today it was a perk. I spent a few hours around the Duomo. I did not do any of the paid stuff, I am still waiting on that, but just the inside and the peace. Even with all the tourists, it is amazing that it can still hold such a calm still peace.

I then met our librarian for dinner as she and I are the youngest and only temporary faculty, and she has been here for a semester already. We went to the great little place down an alley that seemed to go nowhere. Everything, including the pasta was made by hand by the chef of the place. The food was amazing! The wine was great, and the desserts were outstanding! I am ready to go back there! It was a tiny little place, and it was never packed, but it is apparently legendary, at least in the circles I seem to travel in! :P

I then came home and I am about to go to bed, as tomorrow is faculty meetings and introduction to the students. This will be fun!

Caio!

Namaste.
