The past few days have been a bit less than productive. I guess it is probably a case of the usual listlessness after reading a very good story--for in the past week I have read 一个女孩的心灵史 three times, and its final paragraphs keep ringing in my brain. The semester has not ended. There are still a month and ten days left--and that actually ought to be something to be glad of. Yesterday I read Laura Ingalls Wilder's "The First Four Years", the last book in the Little House series (the 6th, 7th and 8th books are yet to be read). Not being a book intended for publication, it was very short and somewhat disorganized, but that does not make the story less touching ( Read more... )

I'd say it's a very interesting book, but as it has already been analyzed to great detail, for example in the Wikipedia article, I don't think I need to say much more on it.

Yesterday I have been reading a human physiology book, and it was reminiscent of a book about how a airplane works I read years ago. Just all these things: what goes up, then what goes down, then what goes down, and the numerous balances and negative feedback mechanisms. I like it :)
