Hatred breeds hatred breeds hatred

Soon the christian american vs the muslim world arguement will be one to rival the jerusalem vs gaza arguement. Seriously. Why have people not realised yet that acts of hate breed hatred and cause further acts of hatred. You act in hatred the people you are aiming at will retaliate, it is human nature. Better to not do it at all. The whole world seriously needs some bambi circle time where no one can say anything nasty, either be nice or dont speak because stuff is getting out of control. There are things like http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11223457

It is just ridiculous. Now 9/11 is a very difficult day for me, infact I have cried on that day every year since it happened. You see my friend died, his plane crashed into the second tower, live on the bbc as I was watching. I watched my friend die. He was on his way home to pack to come visit me and my brother. Now you would think that this would make me angry and it does, does it make me hate people and point fingers? No.

There are reasons for this. Firstly yes I am angry because it was a stupid thing, terrorism is a stupid thing. It is not a means to an end at all. Secondly I don't point fingers and hate because that will only incite hatred. Instead I went out and I learnt about the muslim religion. 99% of muslims don't condone violence, they don't approve of terrorism nor the practice of jihad. They also don't believe that if they kill people Allah will reward them. Infact they think that Allah will punish them if they act in violence and hatred because their God is a kind God who wants people to do good.

Also think on this, especially those people who would maybe go out and burn a religious book in hatred. The Koran starts the same as the Torah and the Bible. Christians, Muslims and Jewish people all believe in the same God. The first five books of the bible are also the first five books of the Koran and the Torah. So if a christian extremist goes out and burns the Koran then he is in part burning his own holy book. The same if a muslim burns the Bible or the Torah or a Jewish person burnt the Bible or the Koran.

This sort of hatred is a form of ignorance. I truly believe that ignorance is a sin. If you live your life refusing to think or question it is a sin. Especially if you, through ignorance, scapegoat and entire religion for one small faction within that religion. The Jewish people have done bad things, look at Jerusalem and Gaza. The Christian religion has done bad things. All religions come along with some bad people, it is unavoidable. If you willfully choose to follow a path of hatred within any of the three religions I mentioned, well, their holy books are very clear upon where you are headed and it isnt good. Burning a religious book as a Christian is not following the teachings of Christ or God. The Bible, Torah and Koran all teach tollerance and understanding. Somewhere along the way an awful lot of people forgot that. That they forget it makes me incredibly sad for to forget the fundamentals of religious; kindness, tolerance and understanding is to lose your faith in that religion.

I was brought up a Theologian in a Catholic family. As Catholic's they where tolerant when I changed and mixed my religious views to suit me. That was what they had taugh me, to reason out my own relationship with God. I was also taught from a very early age that God gave you a brain and that you should use it (see the parable of the talents in the bible). To see so many willfully ignorant people with little faith out there makes a small part of me die. Not because of my religion but it makes me sad for the state of the human race. Surely even without religion as long as there are morals there would be goodness and kindness and tolerance. Religion teaches these things and even with it we cannot do those basic things. I am stuck every day by the cruelty of man to man, woman to woman, child to child and adult to child. All it would take would be a small amount of thought more everyday from everyone on being nice and the world could be a better place but instead people care less and less. I am sad, just sad.

I would like to finish though with this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11223312 This heartens me somewhat. People who acknowledge that the burning of a holy book is wrong, people from different religions comming together to condemn it.

I know this post is long. I also know there will be people who don't agree with what I say. I do not want to argue with anyone over this. What I have stated are my feelings and opinions on this. I just don't think we need any more hatred in the world. Please feel free to leave a comment but just please don't critise my opinions. Sorry the post is so long. Thank you.
