Promisses

Faith has promised me light,
and a life that will raise me from the dead.
Love has promised me a kindred spirit,
who'd make me happy instead of sad.

'God' has promised me faith,
for he claims that all he says is true.
Life has promised me love,
which she says i could find in you.

You promised me nothing,
and yet you have givin me so much.
Your eyes promise me everything,
Never dare I imagine greatness as such.

I can promise you one thing true,
Although we're practically strangers,
I will always love you.
