The fic for
paperlegends is distinctly not cooperating. I want to convey a certain tone, but it's just not coming out, no matter how many times I rewrite a scene. I just can't quite capture what I want for the story. As a result, I'm debating the merits of switching to writing a different story.
I've been discussing this other potential story with
regan_x, an AU where magic isn't needed to help Ygraine conceive Arthur. She gives birth to him without magical aid and lives, then giving birth to another son about a year-and-a-half later - Merlin. However, we've had so many good ideas for the story that it could rapidly grow out of control. Basically, I'm thinking I could commit to dealing with the familial shenannigans of the Pendragons during the pre-canon years and the events of the first series. There's so much to delve into there alone that it would fulfill the 30k requirement for
paperlegends and leave me with something manageable to write. I can always come back to it later and write further installments if I want.
