So I rented the old Civil War miniseries, North and South the other day, and started watching it last night. I haven't watched it since my Civil War class in high school, and I had forgotten just how effing cheesy it is in a lot of parts. The music is beautiful, true, but the cheese factor is completely off the charts.
And I was also reminded of the fact that anybody who was anybody in Hollywood in the '80s was in this miniseries. Elizabeth Taylor makes a showing, Johnny Cash (all hail the venerable man in black!), really, everybody.

It’s a beautiful song, one of the best, but I haven’t been able to listen to it since last November when Daddy died. I’ve cried every time I’ve heard it since then, even if I’m in the middle of driving. Hence why I change the station.
