Suddenly, it's no longer summer here...

The weather here has returned to the average temperatures for April, which is good, because I really would like some Spring between my winter and summer.  My arthritis is somewhat unhappy about the 30 degree drop that happened overnight, so I'm a bit creaky today.

I went out yesterday evening to celebrate a coworker's birthday.  I consumed copious amounts of Blue Moon figuring that it must be healthy since it comes with an orange slice.   Haven't been too hung over today, thankfully, but still have not accomplished as many things as I would like.  Got a couple of loads of laundry done, and expect to do a couple more before bedtime.

I just finished cooking some veggie burgers to take with me for lunch or dinner at work tomorrow.  The food choices in the hospital cafe are extremely limited on the weekend, and there is usually no vegetarian option offered other than the salad bar.  Since I'm there for two meals, I always try to bring plenty of stuff from home.  I had planned to make veggie tacos last night, but never got around to it before going out.

I learned this morning that I could totally walk to work.  I got a ride home from a friend last night, since I had consumed one to many beers to feel safe to drive my car after dark while it was raining in the city.  So, at about 9am instead of hitting the treadmill (which is my normal Friday excercise) I went on an adventure.  My car was about a block and a half from work and it took me about 40 minutes to walk to it.  I took my time since I was ever so slightly hung over.  I think it was a little over 2 miles.  It's never the walk to work that I doubted I could do, although I have been curious as to how long it would take, it's the walk home after a 12 hour day that seems problematic.  Maybe I'll give it a try next weekend (weather permitting).

I went and had my eyebrows threaded for the first time today.  It was decidedly more painful than waxing, but the results are pretty awesome.  Plus, no redness or swelling like after a wax.

I continue to love my new hair.  It was a big hit when folks saw it last night.  Although, it was pointed out to me that it seemed lighter in the pictures.  Now whether this was due to the bar lighting or something else I'm not sure.  I used a special conditioner on it that I got at the salon that is supposed to help with brassiness, but I'm wondering if it toned some of the brightness out...
