one great city!
It's my last full day of work (at TWS)! Everyone has gone home and I am waiting for Jennie and Rachel to finish so we can go to The Golden Compass. YESSSSS. My boss at the Zoo just sent me an email telling me that she thinks I'm doing an outstanding job with the naked mole-rat stuff. It warmed my heart.
I'm seriously so excited to go home. It's really hard to act sad when people are like "ohhhh don't go..." and I AM gonna miss stuff here, especially Ifi and Kendra, who I've just started to get to know and I really really like. If by some off chance I decide to apply to CRC and get a job in Front Royal next semester, Kendra might live there too and Ifi said she would drive cross country with me. So that's cool. But I'm really excited to go back to Portland. I've been to 12 countries and 10 states and Portland is the best place I've ever been to. And it seems like the farther I go, the more I start to hear about Oregon. When I tell people here that I'm from Portland, every environmentalist liberal is jealous of our attitude and actions (we're frontrunners. Seriously. We're all over the environ. science news lines.) and all the young free spirits are jealous of our beautiful mountains, stunning beaches, mild weather, and abundant greenery. Not to mention our fab coffee scene and lots of free things to do. And no sales tax. And no pumping our own gas. Portland has it's faults, but I hope to end up there for the long haul someday.
