Fanmix [Avengers]: Red on My Ledger (Black Widow/Hawkeye)
This is the first in a series of Avengers mixes I'll be posting this week, inspired by quotes and the tremendous character storylines of the film. This one is also a contender in Round 3 over at waywardmixes.

Red On My Ledger; a Black Widow/Hawkeye fanmix

In a surprising heart-to-heart with Loki, Natasha asks him to spare Hawkeye, who has been under Loki's control since the beginning of the film. He appears unfazed by her sentimental plea for mercy, so he asks her why she wants him back. Surely it can't be love? "Love is for children; I owe him a debt," she explains, and goes on to tell of her life before SHIELD. She's done some terrible things; she's killed for money, without remorse or regret, for what felt like forever. She was so good at it that even SHIELD caught wind of her name, and ordered her dead. Yet somehow, for some reason even Natasha doesn't know, the agent they sent after her, a master assassin armed with a bow and arrows, spared her life, took her in, and gave her a chance to finally make amends.
"I've got red on my ledger; I'd like to wipe it out."
