The Jasmine Arc
Well, without the whole 'Cordy sleeping with Connor' thing, obviously. They did that horribly. That was fail.
Anyway, the main thing that I love about this arc is that is wonderfully disturbing and awesomely acted. Everyone running around absolutely in love with Jasmine kind of intrigued me, especially since I do a lot of personal reading on cults (the psychology of someone who can just hand themselves over completely to one person is way interesting), and it's so wickedly disturbing that it's great.
Backing up a bit, though, it's honestly kind of a relief to find out that it WASN'T Cordy sleeping with Connor, but a out of control PTB (or Power that Was, if you will) moving around in her body. No, it wasn't OUR Cordy being a psycho, dissing Angel, and basically being a flaming bitch with bad hair and too-flowing clothing. (I will always say they should have known it wasn't her because she wore billowing clothing. YES, I know it was to hide Charisma Carpenter's growing stomach, but Cordy would never have worn something unless it was form fitting.)
Now, I think it would have worked better if Cordy had stayed possessed, but Joss threw a hissy fit and fired her, plus we could have seen her come back for Season 5 and deal with the repercussions of what happened (or have her memory wiped, too), and it would have made for a MUCH better Season 5 just to have her there (and Lilah, too, but that's a different story).
