Finally...
...something good happens.
I've been so worried about money lately. I still can't seem to find a job, and we keep having to borrow money from Brian's parents so that we can do crazy things like buy groceries or replace the battery in Brian's car. Also, my own car is still fucked up, so it's hard to look for a job, anyway.
Today, Brian finally found out that he's good to receive financial aid in the fall quarter for school. Last year, he couldn't receive government aid because he dropped too many classes the year before that. This year, though, he's finally good, so we don't have to borrow money to pay for his classes, not like anyone has it to give, anyway.
I sat up and cried last night because all of this has been weighing down on me. It's just felt like, since I got fired, everything has been falling down on my head. Today has me feeling much better, though.
So, him getting approved for financial aid means that he gets to keep his job at the school, and he *should* be getting a raise as long as they get the grant that he asked for. That and hopefully any extra aid that he might get for school means that me finding a job won't be such a huge thing. Hell, if everything works out right, I might just go and volunteer somewhere just so that I'm not sitting around the house all day. Besides, Mo isn't the greatest of company. (He peed on the couch two nights ago. Like, jumped on the couch to pee on it. I think he's feeling some of my tension and acting out.)
P.S. If anyone has any suggestions on where to apply for work, let me know. For the record, I'm a twenty-three year-old with a B.A. in history.
**EDIT: Brian got a raise to $1000 a month! That's up from $750, so it's a lot for us. It will either come through for the month of September or October, and he's signing a contract to work with the same people until next August, so YAY!
