The Wake and Memorial on Sunday went really well. We (K.T., her friend Holly, Kelly, Rachel, and I) were anti-social, but nobody noticed but our parentals. A lot of people came: some Canadians, like my dad's whole side of the family, all of the Roshirts MSU friends, and Pops' friends. The Memorial was really nice...my dad spoke. He did a really good job. Even though he was like the most distant relative, I think he spoke because he doesn't care what people think. That man knows now stage fright. He did an amazing job, we were laughing really hard, but I also cried, and the girls were like are you okay? and I wanted to kill them, but whatever.
MIMI QUOTES:
- (My dad tells her that he has lost some weight...she looks him over head to toe)
MIMI: You mean you were bigger than you are now?
- (Mimi opens fortune cookie)
MIMI: You will find hope in an old friend...all my friends are dead.
- (My parents went to visit Mimi in the hospital. When they got there our cousin Joey was there visiting)
MIMI: (Points to Joey) The guy I least expect to be here has been here all morning.
- (In her last few weeks she was in a nursing home-ish place and she was in a hospital bed all the time because her legs didn't work)
MIMI: They don't know it, but I can get myself in and out of bed.
- (A couple of weeks ago, my dad asked her what her advice for young people is...)
MIMI: Take care of eachother.
On that note, REST IN PEACE MIMI, your legacy lives on in your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We miss you, but we know you are finally in the place you've waited so long to be in. God Bless!
Just a Reminder: Nothing matters...who you go with to Homecoming, who's in your group, who's mad at whom.... what matters is that you are happy and you live a good life caring for other people. Please keep this in mind, everything will pass, God is with you.
