Switched to SeGa~

I'm late but still...Secret Garden gotten into me. Finally got to finish it after many attempts. I was planning to watch some more other dramas that's on my queue before making LJ entries but thought I need to write while it's still fresh on my mind :D Good comeback for me after a hiatus from fangirling and stuffs. And wow...Ha Ji Won and Hyun Bin really knows how to choose their projects. Seems like whatever they do is either a classic or a hit. What more if teamed up together, right?

I've only seen one American movie with such soul switching plot so I was eager to reach to that part as I watch. Though from the very beginning I became aware that the short-haired-made-boyish Ha Ji Won will be the female lead on this series with such plot, I stopped guessing what exactly are they up to. Because seriously, a man and a woman soul switching? You bet it ought to be with a very girly with a long nicely curled hair woman (Shin Ji Hyun of 49 days as reference. LOL.) and not with a stuntwoman with boyish looks. Even so, after watching, I discovered that there's more to it. I think I got captivated to it around the end of episode 2 ("She's like Kim Tae Hee and Jeon Do Hyeon to me." scene) then so on. What I like on SG is how even though there's still the rich guy + poor girl + bitchy mother of the lead guy common elements for a drama, I surprisingly didn't find anyone or anything annoying stitch by stitch on this show. I feel like everyone was suited to their roles on this drama and I can't imagine if some other actors and actresses will play them. Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin)'s mom is way more tolerable than Jung Jae Min (Jo In Sung in Memories of Bali)'s parents. LOL. Trust me. Even Director Jong Soo, I don't find him annoying. Plus Oska and Yoon Seul! GAWD. I love love love these couple. Oska's caring and comical side. Absolutely love those funny kpop idols reference punchlines. Epic!!! I don't remember loving Kim Sa Rang (Yoon Seul) on A Love To Kill but I love her here! Pretty!

And Kim Joo Won. He is way skinny yes but I feel like he's still capable of protecting and doing everything for me, if I were Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won). I love how witty, straightforward and no bullshit keeping of secrets he is to Ra Im. What I like ever since with kdramas.

"Did you expect me to side with you in that situation. If that's what you expected, the world that you're living in is a fantasy. How can I take your side just to look cool for a moment?"
- Kim Joo Won

You see how this show tends to be different? Fantasy and comic as it is but its sad parts at around ending are of something different feel from the usual. Joo Won's claustrophobia attack on the elevator and break down on the library and also Ra Im (in Joo Won's body)'s shock at the hospital when she found out Joo Won's sacrifice for her, to name few of my favorite scenes. So amazing! I love that they made the memory loss part just light and funny. Love Joo Won's grandfather's wife too. And the cute three kids on the ending!!! Adorable!!! Fan Service, yeah!!! *flails*

Basically, I'll have withdrawal symptoms on this drama for quite a while. GAWD. I'll cling to the famous sit up and cappuccino kiss scene, the kimsuhanmu chant and such. You could have pretty guess what message tone I changed into after finishing this drama :D Is this the best? Are you sure? I believe it deserves the phenomenon it got. Not much as a classic but how remarkable and good acting it has that it can be of level with other kdrama phenomenons we know. And it's Ha Ji Won and Hyun Bin! Haven't seen the special yet as of writing but the commentary...ANOTHER GAWD. So cute! You thought it would be boring but not. We need more kdrama commentaries!!!

[edit] Scanned my SeGa download and just can't help not to add more on this entry. If you'll think of it, SeGa is actually much appreciated on the second watch. It's been witty & well-hinted from the very beginning if you'll just pay better attention to it, which I failed on my first watch. LOL. Unlike City Hunter that is clear as it is and a little deviation from other kdrama's usual random revelations and twist at the ending part. I didn't mind that we didn't get much of a character development from both the leads and I feel that this series was better off that all of the characters were consistent. Even with Oska and Yoon Seul. There really isn't much with the plot and with the fantasy (I'll go berserk going deep and internalizing it some more) but with the dialogues and acting.

ha ji won, hyun bin, dramas
