There is NO SUCH THING as the BEST and the WORST Cosplayer.
Okay... I'm going to say this... and not because I'm upset by it, but because I think it's morally wrong.
There is NO such thing as the BEST cosplayer and the WORST cosplayer.
You see it on instagram, and other social media outlets all the time.
First we have those anti-cosplayer accounts that tag people who aren't fit to be cosplayers. Of course, those accounts are just wrong. No one isn't the best cosplayer, but we aren't the worst either. We cosplay because we love to do it.
Second, now after going onto instagram today, I have been able to find out about this account called "best cosplayer"...Meaning they get to put in who is the best cosplayer they like as a vote.
What I find wrong about that sort of thing? No one is the BEST. Even if they look exactly like the character, even if they do things to make themselves look like character, NO ONE IS THE BEST. What I also find wrong with something like this? If someone, like yourself, cosplays as the same character views the character category you also cosplay from, find out that you're not voted at all... How would you feel? Wouldn't you feel sad that you weren't voted at all?
Truth is....these BEST and WORST cosplayer things can, and will demoralize you. They can make you lose your self-confidence...
Sure, there are a lot of great cosplayers out there that are better than me. But I don't think anyone is the best. Also... making pics just to ask someone to vote for you in something like "best cosplayer for a character" is just... If they like you, let them vote for you. Don't ask for votes.
