While I was looking at my news feed earlier I spotted a short article on some comments that Howard Stern made about the girl from the movie "Precious".
The article wasn't the bad part... it was all the condescending comments by closed minded individuals that got to me. Plenty of people called her "disgusting" and talked about how "it hurts to look at her, she's so fat."
What is wrong with these people? She's a big beautiful woman. I would consider myself a big beautiful woman, too. I'm bigger than her to be quite honest.
I've seen comments about how us "fatties" need to put down the doritos and soda. All I can think is that these very same people eat the same crap but nature might have given them a slender body despite the food they eat. They might not gain as much weight as some of us heavyset individuals do but they're bringing the same junk into their bodies... they're damn near just as unhealthy.
It's about being comfortable in your own body. I have a hard time believing that some of these people are comfortable with themselves... no matter the body type. They're just releasing their hate onto the easiest target - people that don't look like them.
You're right, being over weight does have its health risks but it is up to the individual to lose the weight they want to lose. If they're comfortable in their own skin, who are these people to tell someone they should lose weight just to make themselves happy?
It's like high school all over again. It's pathetic.
