My Amazing Grateful List

Jan 17, 2012 04:45

We had no electricity for the whole day so I spent most of my time rereading old journals. I noticed that I kept promising myself that I will write everyday. I'm quite sorry that I don't keep my promise very often but I'll try very hard.

For now, here's my Tuesday Gratefulness List:

1. Electricity. I never realized how important it was until our latest power outage. Life's not the same without the surge of energy running in cables and wires to power up our computers, microwaves and television.
2. My mother. We had a tiff last week. I was really worried! I was quite surprised to find out that she's talking to me again the next day. You don't know how happy I was to know that my mother can turn on selective amnesia just to help us get through the situation. She acted like she forgot about it. I'm very grateful to still have a loving and caring mother. Plus, she gave me a nice bottle of perfume.
3. Books. Without the greatest invention of man, I would have died of boredom. I was reading Liberty and it was an engrossing account of the French Revolution with a spotlight on six very influential and amazing women!
4. Cosmopolitan Philippines. The magazines saved my day! I went through all of my collection in an attempt to stave off boredom. It was very useful because I picked up plenty of tips for our Surigao trip.
5. Papa's cooking. My father might not be the best in the parenting department but he's amazing in the kitchen. He never failed to concoct really good meals for the family! Our lunch today consisted of a truly amazing twist to an old dish: pancit with broccoli. It doesn't taste as weird as it sounds!
