If you haven't read the books, DO NOT READ AHEAD.
STAHP
So we've gotten to the Unsullied. Daenerys has her army. The Free Cities better watch their back, because the Freer of Slaves just got freed a bunch of pissed off eunuch soldiers and she's coming FOR YOU.
Not to mention, we get to see her free said army. FIRE AND BLOOD.
ALSO THE DRAGONS ARE FLYING OMG YOU GUYS
NO SERIOUSLY STOP READING THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS
The Red Wedding is coming. Everyone was shocked with Ned's death. I'd been spoiled on it. But I hadn't been spoiled on the Red Wedding. When it happened I set my book aside for a couple of weeks and read a Doctor Who novelization instead. Then when I came back to it and they fake killed Brienne, but I was sick of George RR Martin's shit and skipped ahead and saw that Brienne had a couple more chapters and I was good to go. Not only are the deaths painful, but their mutilation just hurts. And wtf zombie Catelyn. wtf. I still don't understand the zombie thing, but I just feel like that's not really her. Whatever is up with her zombification, it doesn't lessen the pain Red Wedding.
From my understanding, this season is only the first half of the third book. Which means Tywin's demise probably won't be this season. Which means I have some time before I have to see Shae and Tyrion's tragedy. I ship them so hard on the show, but I know she dies. I know how she dies. I know who kills her. It makes this such a painful ship to ship and I hope and pray it won't be as painful as the Red Wedding. I didn't care much for her in the books, but damn, I did care about Robb, Catelyn, and Graywind. A lot.
So if they're splitting the books up now, the Great Bearded Glacier has some more time before the series bares down on him and crushes him beneath the weight of its fans. Write, George, write like the wind.
