So there's a good chance that I'll be leaving Portland, Oregon sometime after Comic Con.  Two different opportunities have arisen and, if the stars align properly, at least one of them will pull through.

The first opportunity is in Kentucky.  "Why Kentucky??" everyone keeps asking.  Well, my best friend is there and that's enough of a good reason.  The problem with that is being able to afford to get out there and stay afloat.  Packing up and moving to Portland put me about $1,000 in debt.  Don't know if I can do that a second time.  I still haven't paid off the first one.

The second opportunity is in Texas.  My uncle is in the process of getting a job near Austin, Texas.  Yes, yes, this is crazy conservative family, but despite our differences, they are the closest family I have.  If he gets it he's going to move out there first while they look for a house.  Then when he has a house the rest of the family (my aunt, cousin, and nephew) will join him.  They've invited me to come along.  Yes, it'll be expensive to get out there, just like Kentucky, but I'd also be able to live rent free for a while and I'd get to watch my nephew grow up.

I love Portland a lot.  But I'm not tied down.  I'll go wherever opportunity takes me.  If it takes me to Kentucky, then it takes me to Kentucky.  If it takes me to Texas, well, as my uncle said, I'd "get to learn how to ride a horse." EL OH EL.  And both states can use a good vote in the Democrat category, anyway, so it's a public service, really.

my bb harmony, dylan, hipster cousin mom, on the road again, kentucky, my crazy conservative family, portland
