Ok, so, are you watching Elementary?  No?  Well, you should, because it's fantastic.

Now look, if your reason for not wanting to watch Elementary because of some misguided "respect" for Sherlock I just... don't understand that reasoning.  Even Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't understand that reasoning.  Now, if you watch it and don't like it, fine, ( Read more... )

ELEMENTARY! LET ME LOVE YOU, YOU BEAUTIFUL LITTLE SHOW. ♥

It's seriously one of the best new shows of the season, tbh. The moment I saw the pilot I was hooked. JLM is simply endearing as Sherlock, and Lucy is naturally amazing as Joan, and their chemistry is fantastic to watch onscreen. Just seeing how their characters interact with each other and how their friendship has progressed so far pleases me on so many levels. Honestly, I could gush about this show and these two for hours. Happy show is happy making for me, and especially after the last episode, which was incredibly intense, it makes me happy seeing that they are finding their footing. :)

Yeah, it's definitely the best new show of the season. I hope it lives a long and happy life.

I started watching it little while ago and quite liked it :) I had been a little put off by the Elementary 'stans' who had been hijacking Hobbit and Star Trek posts to hate-on the actors/creators/show of Sherlock. I knew it was in reaction to something happening on tumblr but it was still bloody annoying and I'm still reluctant to dip my toes into the Elementary fandom because of it. I'm really quite fond of Sherlock Holmes stories though and eventually decided not to let them spoil it for me :)

It probably doesn't quite make my top 3 Holmes adaptations list, but I definitely like it enough to seek it out every week. I especially loved the most recent episode! :D

I'm still sad that they dropped Watson's army background though. The army background always gets dropped whenever they have a fem!Watson, which made sense in the version where fem!Holmes and fem!Watson were still in the Victorian era but there's no reason a modern fem!Watson couldn't have been an army doctor.

Yeah, ya see? That's a legit criticism. I think it would have been great to have a fem!watson with a military background too. *sigh*

I've been watching it and I love it, I love Sherlock to.

I'm a fandom whore, I'll give anything a try once. I don't understand people who get all upset and have to set one fandom/interpretation of a show over the other. It shouldn't be about one or the other, in my mind there's room for them all.

Guess I'm showing my fandom roots here as I subscribe to IDIC, Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combination.

Or to put it another way, the more the merrier.

Gotta say though, I was the opposite of you, I originally tuned in for Johnny Lee Miller and was a bit unsure abut Lucy Lui, but she won me over from the start. Now I'm just waiting for Sky to start showing new episodes again.

lol that's funny. I didn't know who Johnny Lee Miller was when I started watching. And then his first scene was him with that whole "love at first sight" monologue and I was sort of put off. I'd say it took me like 3-4 episodes to really start appreciating him. Now I love him.
