Who wants to go to Comic Con??

So I've formed a group of people who want to go to Comic Con, but we might have more room for others to join us.  Here's some information about what being part of our group with entail.

Right now there are four of us for sure going.   IAmSteamgirl , harmonyhelms, wallmakerrelict , and myself.  There's a chance that rinji_ryu, her husband, and Sunny might go too.  So that's 4 definite and 7 possible.  I'm going to cap the number of people coordinating together at 8, but if you're gonna be at Comic Con anyway, let me know and we can meet up!

If you want to be part of this organized group you have to be willing to be at your computer the minute that tickets go on sale.  When do they go on sale?  Sometime in "early 2013."  They won't tell us anything more specific.  Many of us plan on setting alarms and going in late to work/school.  Tickets tend to sell out in less than an hour and we are all going to work together and buy multiple tickets.  So you have to be able to buy at least two in case they sell out before our friends at the end of the virtual line have a chance to buy them.  Also, if you have browser failure you are screwed and probably won't get to go to comic con.  If you can buy up to four, that's great, but at least be willing to buy two!  We'll pay each other back immediately either through paypal or a check in the mail or something, so we gotta be able to trust each other here.

Also, you have to be willing to share a room with up to 7 other people, possibly including a guy.  This doesn't mean that the room is going to be full every night.  I plan on camping out in line for Hall H at least once, possibly more times.  I'm definitely camping out for the Supernatural and Doctor Who panels (they tend to be the same day).  I might also be interested in being at the Game of Thrones or Walking Dead panels.  And these are just MY preferences.  Other people might be out camping for different things.

Room sharing is a vital part of this group.  We want to stay near the convention center, which means we'll be spening at least $200-300 a night.  We'll be there for at least 5 nights (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun) which means we are going to be spending at least $1000 on a room.  Divide that by the number of people and that's not too bad of a price at all.  Right now we'd be splitting that four ways, which is about $250-350 per person.  I'm hoping we can get that a lot lower than that.  I'm hoping we can dip below $200 per person, hopefully much closer to $100.  So for each new person that joins our group or confirms that they are going, the cheaper it'll get from this point forward.

So there ya go.  If you can:

-Be at your computer when tickets go on sale.
-Buy more than one ticket or pay someone back immediately for yours.
-Be willing to share a room with up to 7 other people, including possibly one guy.

Then let me know!

comic con, comic con 2013, why do i do this to myself
