Arrow Thoughts/Feels

Oct 18, 2012 00:24

I've gotta admit, the first few minutes were pretty boring.  But then there was Katie Cassidy (Ruby 1.0) and I decided to tough it out.  But then the shipwreck happened and I was all in.

The protagonist isn't really a character I like.  The whole "super wealthy" thing instantly makes him difficult to identify with and the whole playboy thing makes it really hard to sympathize with him.  And it's strange because I fucking love Bruce Wayne.  Shit, you guys, my cat is named Bruce Wayne.  I'm not kidding.  If you've never seen him before, here's my bb Bruce Wayne lounging on The Impala (my laptop)...

I'm not really sure what the difference is.  But for some reason Arrow makes me super uncomfortable and Bruce Wayne doesn't.  IDK what is up with that double standard.  Every time there was a party scene or when the made walked in with his lunch literally on a silver platter I cringed pretty hard.  But Alfred from Batman?  Love the guy.  What the hell, self.  What the hell.

But Katie Cassidy and her character... now there's something I find interesting. Her dad is a cop/sheriff?  She's a lawyer?  She seems cool but why was she dating such a douchebag.  It makes no sense.  But it was 5 years ago so who knows...

Also, what's with all the bow and arrow stuff lately?  Hawkeye.  Charlie on Evolution.  That Dreamworks cartoon Brave.  Derryl on The Walking Dead.  I know I'm missing some.  Am I just noticing this?  Or is there, like, a bow and arrow craze?

Anyway, the bad guys sucked.  The girl with white hair all in leather particularly bothered me.  She just seemed like a canned character.  Either expand on her or cut her because she's really kind of lame.

Well, let's see how this series goes.  I'll keep watching.

i talk a lot, tv is srs bsns, arrow
