Tony: Comic vs. Movie version?

So, I had planned on talking about what a surprise it was that 616!Steve turned into a mutant Spider monster that spews baby spiders from his mouth....But, I decided to post this question to you all, and was just curious about your general thoughts.

Sorry, commenting is late [hangs head in shame] I was trying to sneak away from the fandom because I realized...wow...the movie is actually half a year away, and unless they decided to start airing Avengers:EMHS soon I'm going to be suffering for a bit. Sure IM:AA season 2 is helping me, but they've been sporadic in showing new eps. sometimes. I would run away to the Merlin fandom, but some of the new eps have been making me angst D8

N E ways...back on track. Thanks for your input on movie!Tony...[breaths sigh of relief] for a moment there I thought my perspective of him was REALLY, REALLY off and I was like D8 Maybe I need an Ironman marathon. I think another reason why this struck a nerve with me was because I find myself having to defend Tony in the eyes of my now Marvel converted family. I keep referring to the comics where it doesn't seem to register that - YES - it's like making a movie based off a book...it's called source material, but I'm not sure which Universe they are pulling it from...ensue blank look.

LOL, and I guess saying I was brought in by the movie isn't exactly true per say. It was more like a squiggle through media, but the Ironman movie made me more interested in Tony specifically. See, I first became curious thanks to the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon since I was like..."who the !@#$ is Gwen Stacy?" A quick wiki search and some poking at a few Spider-Man fanfics made me like Johnny Storm/Peter Parker (though I had no clue the fics were placed in 1610 - back then I had no idea about different universes).
