Just finished watching my tape of last night's Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill. Holy cow, both episodes were awesome!
First up: GG.
I'll start with the LL, since, although I don't mind them, they don't particularly excite me. So glad that the evil promo monkeys were being their usual misleading selves, and Luke and Lorelai were still happy together at the end of the episode. I would also kill to have Lauren Graham's body.
Next up: Paris. Unlike Rory, she seems to be reasonably secure in her sexuality. Or at least as secure as someone as neurotic as she is can be. Nice twist with the Doyle hookup--they make good sparring partners. And I have to say--looking at you
mrschimpf--she was looking quite, um, busty in her "I'm going out at eleven at night" outfit. I also loved her snark on people under the age of 17. While I love everyone on my f-list, regardless of age, some of y'all make me feel positively ancient.
Anna was a rather annoying plot device, but I did get a kick out of the Sabrina reference, since only minutes before watching the scene I ordered the Harrison Ford-version DVD. The only good part of Anna's presence (since it primarily served to highlight Rory's most annoying qualities) was that it prompted Logan and Company (BTW, I lurve Finn--he cracks me up) to pull their prank. Yes, if it had been me, I would have been angry and humiliated, just as Rory was. But damn, it made for great TV. I was rolling with laughter.
Seriously, could Logan be any more adorable? You have no idea how torn I am between him and Marty. It's very odd to have two potential love interests for Rory that I actually like. I'm utterly amazed, yet again, by Rory's complete obliviousness to Marty's feelings for her, although I'd like to hope that she was buying a clue when he didn't get in the cab with her. I don't know what direction I want the triangle to go. I have a sinking premonition that Rory and Marty will start dating, because he is safe and comfortable, but all the while she will be drawn to bad-boy Logan. Shades of Dean and Jess, anyone? Bleah. No need for another LTFH. Although...Marty would be a much better boyfriend for Lane than Zach, and then everyone can be happy. :)
Positively adored Rory and Richard's prank on Logan. Some of my favorite scenes from the show have involved those two bonding--it's a trend I hope to see continued.
And then I watched OTH. Now, I haven't really been watching regularly, because, well, it's a bad show. But then last night, my darling
filmobsessed137 informed me that my beloved JAKE made an appearance. Well, then I had to watch. (Thank heavens I had taped the show for a friend!)
First of all, Hilarie Burton has improved immensely as an actress. I really used to dislike her on the show, but this season she is starting to impress me. Her scenes with Anna were especially well done.
Speaking of Anna, she needs to go away. And take her brother Felix with her. I absolutely adore Sophia Bush, but I enjoy Brooke's scenes less when Felix is in them. I'm much rather have her hook up with Mouth, who's adorkable, or even get back together with Lucas.
Speaking of, my heart was totally breaking for him at the end of the episode. It just wasn't a good night for the Scott boys--save Dan, of course, who is apparently still quite diabolical.
Was there a reason Deb confessed to Karen about sleeping with Keith? It seemed random.
Karen, incidentally, kicked all sorts of ass when she found out about Lucas not taking the test. Way to lay down the law, mom. :)
And of course...JAKE!!
I'm trying very hard not to throw up right now. I cannot afford to get sick. Ugh. I feel like crap.
