My 2008 New Years Resolutions (& Fic)
My attempts, anyway. In case anyone's curious:
1) Exercise more.
2) Eat less.
3) Write more.
Yes, ladies and gents. That's the anti-climatic it.
Yet, since my 3rd resolution is to write more, I have a ficet for you:
Title:5:30 in the Morning

It's 5:30 in the morning, and she doesn't want to scare him. He's pushing 80 miles an hour on the highway to San Francisco and while traffic may be very light tonight at the moment, there is traffic. If she were to fly down to him now, just pull up beside him as she's tempted to, she could very well startle him out of his lane. But then again, he's Robin--no, he's Tim--and it's possible that the most he'd do would be to blink an eye.
When you can survive incredible heat and cold, bench-press airline jets, and fly, leather jackets and motorcycles really shouldn't be impressive. But the jacket is fitted to his frame, and the only word to describe the way he rides is graceful.
She sees him raise his hand up from handlebar if only for a moment. The gesture confuses her until she realizes it's a signal. The decision is out of her hands; he's already seen her.
Cassie mutters a quiet prayer that she doesn't distract anyone else into careening off the road, as she soars down from the sky. She settles behind him, trying to figure out where to put her hands. It's not as if she's done anything like this before. Her first thought is to just put her hands on his hips, awkward though that may be. She finds to her surprise that she really isn't balanced. They're going so fast and so close to the ground...
It's the most natural thing to put her arms around him and just hold on.
He doesn't try to say anything over the roar of the wind. He knows her limitations. No super-hearing for the Wondergirl. He just takes an instant to reassuringly place his hand over hers before devoting himself to the road again.
The first rays of the dawn warm her face as she peeks over his shoulder.
Sunlight over Titan's Tower.
