Summary: Tim/Tam for the comment_fic prompt "Hang Me Out to Dry".
"Tam, are you watching my blood dry?"
She ducked her head with a small blush before glaring at him.
"Sure. Why not. It's more entertaining than watching paint, right?"
The fact that the blood was on a bandage wrapped around his otherwise naked chest probably had something to do with it. The fact that they were alone in his very private 'nest' may have also been relevant.
"Painkillers all kicked in, right?" The last time he'd try to do anything while thusly damaged, he'd tried to dash to his computer before the bat-family cocktail had done its job and collapsed before he could even grab the back of his chair.
"Almost. Still have a twinge at the back of my neck right--"
"Here?" She pressed her fingers gently but firmly beneath his shaggy hair.
"Yeah..." the reply came out a little lower than he intended.
"I..." He hoped she wouldn't move her hand. Just hoped. "I think I can massage that out."

She was already leaning over him, but didn't move closer. He closed his eyes as the pads of her fingers dug a little deeper at the base of his skull.
He felt relaxed and... something else. Happy. That elusive almost forgotten sensation that was so much more than the absence of grief. He opened his eyes.
She held his stare.
He licked his lips in silence and felt a tiny smirk of satisfaction begin when her breath hitched.
He reached up with one hand, to reciprocate by gently working over the back of her neck... but she froze.
"OfcourseIonlytookONEmassageclass, so,obviously, Idon'tknowEVERYTHING. I thoughtitwoudlbecoolerthanasociologyclass..."
He brought his own voice down to a whisper.
"Tam, shut up."
Her lips were soft and warm.
