Runner girl

I'm back from Naples!I ran in the Naples 1/2 Marathon this Sunday. Nate and I ran in this race together last year, and I wanted to run in it again as part of my marathon training. Luckily, the length of the race (13.1 miles) matched with the length of my long run today, so it worked out perfectly. :o) The race was fantastic! It was mid-50's and ( Read more... )

Congratulations and great photos!

How can you manage to look so cute right after finishing a marathon? My photo would be me lying on the finish line, red faced and gasping for breath. :)

Oh, believe me, there will be some really bad photos when I run the full marathon in 3 weeks! This race did hurt b/c I ran faster than I ever do in training, but the distance wasn't too bad... it was 13.1 miles, and my marathon training has had me run further than that 4 times in the last 2 months, so I guess my body's gotten used to it now. However, the full marathon I'm running on February 15 is 26.2 miles, after which I am going to want to die...

Thank you! I actually shocked myself. :o) I am not a fast runner by any means, and was afraid I was going to run slower than I ran this race last year! It was a shock to me that I could do it under 2 hours.... this darned marathon that's coming up, though, is another story entirely... ;o) OH, hey, I'm getting ready to make a post about finding prayer partners for when I run the full marathon on 2/15... I know that you are a Christian, so it made me think of you if you'd be interested in praying at a specific time for me during the race. :o) I'll post it in just a minute...

Of course I'll be your prayer partner!! I'm glad you thought of me.

I've not run in months but I'm starting back tomorrow. I just feel soo much better when I'm exercising- and my sugar is better, too!

I'm so excited about your marathon! I know you're looking forward to it.

Thanks! I used to do it in high school, but was horrible at it. It's just been in the last year and 1/2 that it's become a big part of my life. :)

Ha :o) I know it sounds crazy! I started with walking the 1.5 mile loop that my street is on. That turned into running, and that turned into running it multiple times. It really stinks at first, but my running times are so great. It gives me time to daydream and be alone with my thoughts. :o)
