On meeting Auntlolo_73 and seeing The Best and the Brightest

So this past weekend I had the ridiculous pleasure of traveling to Philly for two momentous occasions…seeing the premiere of The Best and the Brightest at the Philadelphia Film Festival AND meeting @BUDLots (AKA auntlolo_73 ) for the first time in real life.

I’ve gotta say, I was incredibly nervous in the days leading up to Saturday. I mean I love my Twitter peeps and would do anything for them, but there’s a definite safety in keeping rl and the twits separate. But whatever, as it turned out I had nothing to worry about.

auntlolo_73 is absolutely amazing & even funnier in person than on Twitter (if that’s possible…). I know I had an incredible time. I totally laughed harder than I have in forever (how’s that lung Lori??). If the rest of the people I chat with are half as awesome in person I really have found some friends for life. We ended up hanging out and talking until 4:30am, resulting in me being a total waste of space at work today. But you know what? I would do it all again in a second!

So the real point of the trip was to see the premiere of The Best and the Brightest. Well I’ll tell you, I wasn’t disappointed by this movie in the least. It was hilarious, the writing was really clever, and all of the actors were well cast. I recommend that everyone go and see it asap (not to mention that B was in it, albeit for about 15 mins. But there was nudity…possibly in a sex club…  O-o). But B fan or no (and really, who isn’t!), you seriously have to see this movie. auntlolo_73 wrote an awesome review which you should all read. I’d just be echoing everything she said. If i could figure out how to link it, I totally would.  You're lucky i learned how to do cuts this morning!

On another note, there may have been some drunken tweeting around 3am that offended some people. You should know that wasn’t the intent at all. I’m sorry for those who were upset, no matter who said what, and I’d like to encourage anyone who still is to talk to me about it. Everyone on Twitter has been so incredibly friendly and supportive and I’d hate to lose anyone over something like this.

So yeah, that’s it. If any of you ever get the chance to meet up with any of the members of the amazing LotS fandom I seriously suggest jumping on it. Think of how great everyone is online…it only gets better in real life!
