The Council Girl:
65256 / 65000 words. 100% done!
Tuesday night marked the completion of The Council Girl (a little late, I know, but there were lots of Real Life things to do before I got to celebrate with my LJ peps)! The title is absolutely NOT staying, but I’ll work on that when I begin edits on it (whenever the hell that’ll be).
I am overjoyed, overzealous, and completely…overextended. With the holidays coming soon-I mean, did anybody know Christmas Eve is exactly two weeks away?-and parental until #1 coming home on the nineteenth, there isn’t even time to breathe. Plus I am swimming in revisions for my lovely and talented CP who is currently out on query (and we wish her the best with our fingers crossed, even though she doesn’t need it).
In light of my pressed time, I am currently putting my Novel Celebrations *TM* (get the double entendre?) on hold for a time when I can actually relish-and roll in-my fabulousness (like a dog in $%!t).
That also brings me to my goal this holiday season. In light of personal events in my life this last month and a half, I have decided life is too short. Too short to stress over little things and too short to worry and cry over the holidays. Instead, I will roll with the punch[es] (or eggnog, I really like eggnog). No, everything may not turn out the way I’d like, but I WILL enjoy this holiday, even if it’s crazy.
Tomorrow night I’m throwing a very small Christmas tree decorating party with a few family members. I’m actually looking forward to it. And I’m trying not to worry.
What are your plans for the holidays?
